©Ever since the age of industrialization, environmental change has been always ignored as if it holds no importance over us or how we live our lives. People do not consider environmental change as a big deal or address it as a top priority concern like we address matters of war or Corona, even when the most wide-spread deaths and destruction are caused due to natural disasters.

This is because nobody wants to admit what we have done to this beautiful planet. We have set up huge factories, Industries and Nuclear plants that release tremendous amounts of toxic waste and chemical effluents into the air and water bodies on a daily basis due to which almost every river in the world is polluted, every corner of the world littered, every star in the sky hidden by smoke.

We have leveled, sawed, and blasted every tree, mountain, and valley that stood between us and the so-called development of mankind.

No one wants to admit that all the natural disasters were born due to the imbalance created between nature and humans. We may be able to stop the spread of the coronavirus by implementing lockdown but how will we stop the hundreds of natural disasters like Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Volcanic eruptions which are caused due to this imbalance?

Nature has also shed light on the fact that actually how much humans have damaged the environment that it takes a global lockdown so nature could finally breathe! Nature has bloomed in the absence of us humans and regenerated itself. But once the lockdown ends and all goes back to normal and we once again start exploiting, hurting, and killing Bhumi Devi. If such heinous crimes were committed on a human being then the oppressor would have been hanged a long time ago but who will fight for her rights?

Still, Amidst all this tragedy,

River Ganga is in getting clean again, The skies are full of migrant birds instead of loud, noisy aircrafts , Dolphins have once again returned to the shore due to absenteeism of ships. Animals are once again beginning to claim their land which was snatched away from them thousands of years ago. The Environment is finally beginning to heal.

Environmental change is no longer a ‘should’ it’s a ‘must’. A must on which our government and governments all around the world need to act upon, NOW!

This is mother’s nature first and last warning and it is upon us, whether we heed to that warning or ignore it as we always have and face the consequences that come along with it. As change is inevitable and the race which refuses to change its old ways of living, goes EXTINCT.

India needs to set an example for the rest of the world to follow. It is only possible if we the people of India as well as people from each and every country keep our surroundings clean like not spitting or throwing rubbish (like plastic bottles, plastic cutlery, etc) outside our moving car or any other means of transport, switching off unnecessary lights or by simply not ignoring a leaky tap.

We must make our government act strongly on the delicate matter of Environmental conservation which is only possible if we the people together change which will automatically bring a change in the government's litigation as The government is 'Of the People, by the People, for the People.'

In this equation, the only variable which is constant is 'THE PEOPLE", so just imagine the power that the people must hold. Now it is up to us whether we use this power to make the world a better place or just leave it as we have found it.

The time has come when we are required to take care of our mother now.©
